About
Robert L. Reeves was born in 1970 to a desperate runaway who sold him to gypsies who in turn traded him for a bag of seed corn, some magic beans, and a carton of Kools to a lovely couple from Waterloo, Iowa who raised him as their own.
Reeves received a BA in Art with honors from the University of Northern Iowa in 1994 while pursuing interests in film, theater, and music. He has been creating and exhibiting for over 24 years; public art, studio work, and commissions for private collectors and corporate collections.
Drawing from his surroundings and using architectural and figurative themes as a backdrop he renders everyday locations and objects from his unique perspective to reconstruct a moment in time. Creating form and structure using light. Seeking to draw the viewer into the moment and illicit a personal re-examination of the familiar.
He currently lives and works in Des Moines, Iowa.
