Fitch Open House – The Aftermath
Just wanted to post a quick note to say a huge THANK YOU!! to everyone who came out to the open studio event last Friday. It was all in all a great success. A ton of people through the doors. Studio 405 was rocking steady most of the evening. I barely got a chance to…

Dusty Little Things
As I posted last week there’s a big event coming. My studio building’s annual open house. That means I’ve got a lot of stuff in the works. There will be repeated trips to the hardware store; repeated trips up and down the four flights of stairs (good for leg-day); long periods of me standing in…

Title (optional)
What a night that was. The Fitch Studios open house was a pretty good time. There were tons of people through the studio. Lots of new faces and plenty of friends. And sangria. So much sangria. On behalf of Studio 405 thanks for coming out. Here’s the set up from that night. With some new,…

Here Comes the Sun
Considering this is a post about two paintings of Sun Studios in Memphis that I’m working on it’s an awful pun, but it’s late. I’ve cleaned up raw sewage today. A pretty fair amount really. It was 100 degrees at band practice tonight. My knees were pitting out. My knees. I’m out of clever lines.…

Prints, Anyone?
A short note to let you know about some of the great Iowa artists with reproductions and originals available on http://www.FineArtAmerica.com. Some of them are people that I know. Some are unknown to me, but either way I hold the greatest respect for them for having the courage to put the fruits of their labors…

Under Construction
Hey all, Please excuse the mess. I’ve just imported my blog from Blogger and need to do some cleanup and general formatting type stuff. I’m also hoping to get my website back up and running. In an earlier post I mentioned losing it due to a mixup with my registrar, who shall remain nameless. I…

Ghost Crab Hunting
Just put the wraps on the latest piece, “Ghost Crab Hunting”. It was an interesting change of pace as I rarely do any sort of portraiture. Especially children. Granted this one doesn’t have a face so it’s only marginally a portrait. And now… back to work. Cheers, R
